She often “holds down the fort” alone while her husband, who is in the Navy is deployed. Loving all animals since she was young, Amanda knew at an early age that she wanted to work in the pet industry. A friend told her about Animal Behavior College (ABC), and with her hectic schedule it was the perfect fit for her. Amanda is now an ABC Certified Dog Trainer teaching private lessons and is keeping very busy with just “word of mouth” referrals.

Pamela has had lifelong experiences with animals, including, dogs, horses, cows, pigs, and other farm life, but she never dreamed that her lifelong love of animals would evolve into a career and become a way of life for her. Checking in on Pamela years after graduation, we were pleased to find out that her business continues to grow and she now offers private and group dog training classes, offers pet sitting, pet grief support and continues to work with service and therapy dogs. She also became a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and helps to train and approve therapy dogs.

After successful completion of the prior stages, you’ll then be placed in a veterinary environment to complete your externship. During your externship, you’ll be given the opportunity to interact with professionals in the veterinary industry so you will be ready to start your career.
Dog Trainer Program
Dog trainers can enjoy a rewarding career. They train dogs, make a difference in dogs’ lives and get paid doing what they love. Certified dog trainers can start their own dog training business, work for an established dog training company, or work in an animal shelter or pet store.
